Iconic Images are sad to hear of the passing of Nelson Mandela, the South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician, and philanthropist, who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
Both Terry O’Neill and Benny Gool were fortunate enough to meet Mandela and capture some incredible images of the icon. O’Neill recalls “When I had the opportunity to photograph Nelson Mandela on the occasion of his 90th birthday celebration in Hyde Park, it was one of the greatest honours of my life.”
